report the main job from saudia arabia, madinah 2011-2012


The report of my job in madinah almunawarrah Saudi Arabia (2011-2012)

My name is fajri rahmadoni, and I’m also one of the student pvb in sahid Jakarta sub campus smk 57 jakarta. 

This is my report of my job in Saudi…From 15 October 2011 I’m working in aramas madinah as a room boy, on that time I just take a little picture in there as a my report because on the end of November 2011 aramas the stop their activity and close as per the government of Saudi. The government they want to develop the holy mosque nabawi  to be bigger again.
This is a new job for me, I’m learning so many things in housekeeping. From how to clean the room with or without guest inside and how to handle check out room



On the December 2011 we’re move to other hotel but still one company with aramas. We’re move to Al-majeedi Arac suite. Actually this is an apartment but their using the system of hotel. After that i decided to take my contract for 1 year only. I’m working in housekeeping as a room boy.
About Al Majeedi ARAC Suites Arac Residential Suites is located at its directly facing the Prophet's Holy Mosque from the northern side.
(361) Suites in the Al Majeedi Arac Suites distributed into (14) floors.
These suites are different in sizes and designs provide the essential requirements for (Arac) Lodgers at the highest standards. 







Suites

Suites Privileges: All suites are furnished with modern furniture and supplied with separate kitchens and complete electrical appliances.
Every floor we provide the suite no 1, 6, 10, and 15. Each room they have 2 bedrooms, 3 toilets, 1 living room and 1 kitchen with the stuff. And the normal room we provide 2 bedrooms, 1kitchen and 1 toilet.
Most of Group for hajj and umrah ther stay in al-majeedi because near of holy mosque nabawi and they can provide a lot of bed inside the room.



Housekeeping.

The organization housekeeping In al-majeedi is very simple, just see the chart below this,

1.      Room boy/Room attendant
Job Description/Summary: Responsible for helping to achieve ongoing guest
satisfaction and team goals through the maintenance and upkeep, cleanliness of rooms.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.    To understand all standards of room/suite cleanliness.
2.    To consistently clean assigned rooms/suites to the standards of
cleanliness for the Brand as well as Island Hospitality.
3.     Maintaining shelf organization in the storerooms.
4.    Replenishing storeroom supplies.
5.    Removing trash and dirty linens from rooms/suites.
6.    Sweeping and vacuuming floors.
7.    Reporting maintenance problems or completing work repair orders.
      Spot cleaning walls, carpets, light fixtures, etc.
           
            Daily room attendant job (morning shift 8am-5pm/evening shift 3pm-12) :
1.      Come to hotel 8am for morning shift and 3pm for evening shift
2.      Briefing around 10 minutes and take the flor key each floor is diffenerent and report of room attendant.


             On the small paper should be given to order taker a soon after you take it in office

3.      Clean, Prepare & arrange the trolley nicely


After that I take the trolley and clean it, change the garbage plastic and trow it to garbage room, after that arrange nicely of your trolley to keep it easy for you in whole duty.  On the trolley it have 3 levels, on the first usually I keep it the pillow cover and duvet cover. In here they don’t have a size for the sheet, every single sheet for pillow, duvet and bed have a single bed not king or queen size.on the 2nd level I keep it the bed sheets on the 3rd I keep it a bath and hand towel. Also on the top one I arrange about the guest supplies (soap, shampoo, toilet paper, tissue box), chemical, air freshener, sponge and silk.
Chemical have a few type R1 (toilet cleaner, danger for skin), R2 (multipurpose), R3 (glass cleaner), R4 (wooden polish), R5 (floor cleaner for mopping usually have a good smell), R7 (for clean the hard spot and we put in 1 bottle like hand spray.  Except R1 the other chemical is safety for hand skin, but our safety is no 1 so always wear the hand glove.



4.      How to make up the room with/without the guest inside.
·         With the guest inside
Knock the door/ ring the bell (normal 3 times max 5-7 times). If the guest opened don’t come through the room, ask fist if the guest needed our service or not. If yes first thing do stripping the garbage and change the garbage bag plastic with the new one, after that ask the guest which one should be clean because sometimes guest just needed to change garbage only or the guest want to continue his/her activity. At the last one ask guest to need anything else. After that you can close the door if nothing else
·         Without the guest inside
This is just regarding if the guest request, if this is happened just clean like always you clean the room (stripping the garbage and change the garbage bag, clean the toilet, change the bed sheet everything  there like pillow cover and duvet, and vacuum) but one condition don’t ever to touch valuable items if on the bed have valuable item don’t change it just leave it and give note what the reason you not changed on the paper and keep it on the table.

5.      How to make check out room to be vacant

First thing you have to make sure to supervisor/ order taker, this room is check out or not. If yes knock 3 times and max 5-7 times if there’s no answer open with floor key 
After that  open the window & window curtain, because after we do this ; all bad smell will be gone. And then do stripping garbage and don’t forget whole stripping we have to look the lost and found item. If you found it you have to keep it in the plastic, give a specific name what kind of item you founded, what time and date, which room no, and who founded after that tide and keep it safety. After that call order taker tell him/her you have lost and found item and after you clean that room you have to pass it to order taker. 
 and then you can do to make a bed. in here they use 1 bed sheet and cover it with duvet and put 2 pillow...

don't forget to change everything for sheet because we will put this room vacant clean and ready to sell again to the guest.
after that clean the window using R3 and do dusting from right or left which one is suite for you. and then do vacuum, from the distance to closest the room door and don't forget to vacuum below the bed. don't forget to close the window and arrange the window curtain properly.

after that move to kitchen, clean everything in there and move again to toilet,...clean from up to down, start with clean the mirror and move to wash basin and then to w/c and bidey after that you can clean the floor using wiper and the chemical R5....
 put the toilet supplies like 2 soap, 2shampoo, 2body lotion, 2 bath gel, 1 tooth paste, 1 shower cup, 1 shaving kit, 2 bath towel, 2 hand towel, 1 bath mat, 1 tissue roll and slipper put near the door
after that put 1 tissue box to each room

and the last one clean the corridor using mop or wiper, after that double check and spray the air freshner to whole place (in the room).
take off the electricity and close the door
